Homeless Children's Services

Children are the most vulnerable and least visible victims of homelessness. The instability and trauma that accompanies homelessness leaves its mark on children in many forms:

  • increased rates of illness
  • hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition
  • interrupted schooling
  • anxiety disorders
  • developmental delays
  • lowered self-esteem
  • early difficulties in managing aggressive behavior
  • disconnection from community and peers

Our Homeless Children's Services offers children and parents comprehensive programming and caring support to overcome these challenges. Our programs are open to all homeless children in Washtenaw County who have a case manager/advocate. Programs include:
